Press Release"John Gaar is on the Brighter Side of Maybe" (click to read)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------REVIEW 1"The ten tracks that make up the album come together to create a release that all but begs the listener to just let the album play out in its entirety. For only a second solo release, John Gaar has created something in Brighter Side of Maybe that will be hard to top." said Matheson Kamin in his review for The Rock and Roll Report, (click for full review) honoring the record with a perfect five star rating. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------REVIEW 2"Sooner or Later moves the album in a very interesting, almost heavy metal-inspired direction, kicking off with a series of raunchy-laced guitar licks and Gaars semi-spoken bluesy vocal, in a fierce, lulling Layne Staley-like tone (lead singer from 90s band, Alice In Chains). The chorus is laced with some classic rock-like synths à la Emerson Lake and Palmer, adding a progressive streak to the song. The tempo slowly builds and the vocal and music delivery is in-your-face and unavoidably bad-ass. The loud and elongated guitar strokes scream 80s decadence à la ZZ Top, but in a relevant light for todays music landscape, filled with high-flying guitar-driven pop from bands like Kings of Leon."~ Michael Morgan, Indie Soup, 4 (out of 5) Stars(Click here for full review)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------"When mixing John's new record, I was pleased to see there was no filler, just great song after great song, sung with the intensity that he wrote them with." ~ Mark Hallman - Grammy Nominated Producer, Congress House Studio, Austin,TX................................................................................................"John Gaar is a tremendous talent, great song writer, incredible guitar player and I must say the man can sing. So glad that he put out this great cd."~ Malford Milligan................................................................................................MUSIC RELEASE - Bighter Side of MaybeRelease Date - June 1, 2011.......................................................................................Brighter Side of Maybe introduces ten new introspectively written songs about life experiences allowing the listener to connect between the music of John Gaar and their own lives. .......................................................................................KLBJ PRESENTS - SPECIAL FREE CONCERT EVENT Tuesday, June 7 - 7PM - 9PMThreadgill's DowntownAustin, Texas.......................................................................................FREE GIVE-AWAY ROT BIKER RALLY 2011 TICKETSTwo Pairs of Free Tickets will be given away at John Gaar's Free Concert Event at Threadgill's Downtown! .......................................................................................KLBJ LOCAL LICKS LIVE WITH LORIS LOWEJohn Gaar will be performing on Local Licks Live at KLBJ with Loris Lowe on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 10 PM.
